The web portal of Water Resources Department (Mining & Geology), Punjab is developed with the following objectives:
1. To provide easy and affordable access to Sand/Gravel to consumers/trade.
2. To provide the service offered by the Department in online mode.
3. To monitor the movement of vehicles so as to keep tab on illegal transportation of minerals.
Sand and gravel mining and stone crushing have been permitted as part of the construction-related activities in Punjab from Monday.

There is an annual demand of around 4 crore metric tonnes of sand and gravel in the state, says Minister of Mines Sukhbinder Singh Sarkaria.
